Northwestern itinerary comes together
Hopefully, this itinerary will be good. I will post after the trip in August and let you know my thoughts. The goal was to enjoy a balance of national parks, mountains, water, city and countryside. If anyone has input I’d be glad to hear it.
From the East coast:
Day 1 –
Destination: Seattle, WA.
Activity: Fly
Dinner: In airport prior to flight. (Should help rest of meals taste that much better)
Day 2 –
Place: Seattle, WA
Activity: Pike Place Market, Space needle
Dinner: La Carta Oaxaca
Day 3 –
Destination: Olympic NP
Activity: Travel to Lake Quinnault
Day 4 –
Destination: Olympic NP
Activity: Explore Hoh Rain Forest, dip in Sol Duc Hot springs, travel to Lake Crescent
Dinner: Lake Crescent Lodge Dining Room
Day 5 –
Destination: Vancouver, BC
Activity: Ferry to Vancouver Island, visit Petroglyph Provincial Park, ferry from Nanaimo to Mainland.
Dinner: Somewhere in Robson street area – need a good recommendation
Day 6 –
Destination: Winthrop, WA
Activity: Drive across North Cascades NP
Dinner: ?
Day 7 –
Destination: Leavenworth, WA
Activity: visit Cascadian Farms roadside store, apple orchards, putting course.
Dinner: ?
Day 8 –
Destination: Mt. Ranier NP
Activity: Walk around in Bavarian style town of Leavenworth
Dinner: Paradise Inn dining room
Day 9 –
Place: Mt. Ranier NP
Activity: Hike to Nisqually glacier
Dinner: Paradise Inn dining room
Day 10 –
Destination: Portland, OR

Activity: Sightseeing along Columbia River gorge, Multnomah Falls

Well, we had pretty much good food everywhere we went in Portland.

Thanks for the tip. This place looks like a real classic joint. Perfect for getting the taste of Portland. And, not too pricey either.
